Qualifications for the posts are as follows :

 

1. Registrar : Essential qualification (E.Q.) (i) Uniformly good  academic record with at least Master’s Degree or equivalent, (ii) At least 10 years’ service experience in a University or in an institute of  higher learning of which five years must be in high level administration in a University or in an  institute of Post-graduate studies. Desirable Qualification (D.Q.): (i) A Doctoral Degree with high level administrative experience in a  Government or  Quasi-Government Organization or a good background in administration  and  management in senior position. Provided that in absence of suitable candidates having requisite administrative experience if the candidate  has  been either a Professor/Principal for at least two years or a Reader for at least five years, the essential qualification pertaining to administrative experience for the post may be  relaxed and for candidate having requisite administrative  experience, the essential qualifications may be relaxed on   the  recommendation of the selection committee but the candidates must have at least the academic qualification as required for teachers of colleges. Provided that a higher initial pay may be granted as per qualification, experience and present emoluments.

 

2. Comptroller : Essential Qualification (E.Q.): (i) A good academic record with Master’s Degree or its equivalent professional qualification, (ii) Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountant/Cost Accountant of India or  experience in IA & AS or equivalent service or a Master’s Degree in business administration with specialization in finance., (iii) At least ten years’ experience in a government office  or in a University or in an Institute of higher learning in high administrative post involving supervision, control, planning and auditing of financial matters.

            Preference will be given to Master’s Degree in commerce.

 

3. Director of Farms : Essential Qualification (E.Q.): (i)  Uniformly good academic career with at least Master’s Degree  in Agronomy or in any branch of  Agricultural / Horticultural Science or recognized equivalent qualifications. (ii) At least 10 years’ experience in the management of farms in senior administrative position. (iii) Knowledge of Agricultural conditions in the country preferably in the State of West Bengal. Desirable Qualifications: (D.Q.) :(i) A Doctoral Degree or equivalent  publications in Agricultural and Allied subject , (ii) Proven capacity of leadership in organization  or management of large size State or University Farms.

 

4. Director of Extension Education : Essential Qualification (E.Q): (i) Consistently good academic record with  1st or high 2nd class Master’s Degree in Agricultural  or Allied Sciences, (ii) A Doctoral Degree in relevant subject, (iii) 10 years’ experience in planning of  extension education activities in the broad field of Agriculture, organizing projects for  adoption of Agricultural Technologies with good leadership ability and  understanding of the problems of the farmers. (iv) At least 5 years’ experience as chief of an  organization/ a technology transfer unit or as the Head of the Department  of an  Institute where technology transfer  Programme forms a major activity.   Desirable Qualifications: (D.Q.) :(i) Experience of teaching (ii) Experience of research in Agriculture or Allied Science. (iii) Experience in academic administration.

            Preference will be given to a candidate having a Ph.D. Degree  in  Extension Education.

 

5. Director  of Research: Essential Qualification (E.Q.) : (i) Consistently good academic record with  1st class or high 2nd class Master’s Degree in Agriculture or Horticulture or recognized equivalent qualifications (ii) A Ph.D Degree in Agricultural Sciences or any of the Sciences  basic to Agriculture, (iii) 10 years’ experience of research in any branch of Agriculture/Horticulture as evidenced by  publications  in Standard Journals, (iv) Evidence of ability to plan, organize, guide and administer research activity, (v) At least 5 years’ experiences as chief of any research organization/ multidisciplinary research project or as the Head of the Department in any  institute (National/State/University level) where research forms one of the major activities. Desirable Qualifications: (D.Q.) : (i) Experience of teaching.(ii) Experience in Extension work in agriculture and Allied Science, (iii) Experience in academic administration.

 

6. Dean Students’ Welfare : Essential Qualification (E.Q): (i) Uniformly good academic record with at least Master’s Degree or its equivalent, (ii) At least ten years’ experience in academic Institutions like University or in an Institute of higher learning having at least five years’ experience in administration with teaching or  training background. Desirable Qualifications: (D.Q.) : (i) A Doctoral degree with high level administrative experience in a  government or quasi-government organization with a good background in Social  Service or sports, games and other extra  curricular activities of outstanding nature or management in senior position.

 

7. Librarian : Essential Qualification (E.Q): (i) Uniformly good academic record with a Master’s Degree in Library Science, (ii) At least ten years’ experience of working in administration/management position in a Library of a  University or of any comparable reputed institute, (iii) Knowledge in modern automation system in Library. Desirable Qualifications: (D.Q.) : (i) A Doctoral Degree or Published Research Work of similar merit, (ii) knowledge of at least one foreign language other than English.

 

8. Associate Director of Research : Essential Qualification (E.Q): (i) Consistently good academic record  with a Master’s Degree in any discipline of Agriculture/Horticulture (ii) At least ten years’ experience in research in the field of agriculture or  allied Science, (iii) Evidence of ability to plan, organize, guide and administer research activities, (iv) At least two years’ experience of leadership in organizing research or extension programme/Head of the Department in an Institute (National, State or at the University level), where research forms a major activity, (v) Doctoral degree and published research work in reputed journal. Desirable Qualifications: (D.Q.):  (i) Experience of  teaching, (ii) Experience in collaborative research with different disciplines (iii) Experience in administration.

 

9. Assistant Auditor: Essential Qualification (E.Q):  (i) Hons. Graduate in  Commerce with good academic record (ii) Three years’ working experience in  supervision, control, planning and  management of audit and accounts, preparation of budget in Govt./Quasi Govt./University/Commercial establishment. Desirable Qualifications: (D.Q.) : (i) Professional qualification in Cost/Chartered  Accountancy, (ii) Experience in audit-accounts service of Central/State Government Units/Govt. undertaking/University.

 

10. Technical Officer :  Essential Qualification (E.Q): Post Graduation in Agro-Meteorology/Meteorology/Agriculture (priority maybe given to the subject related to Agronomy/Soil Science/ Entomology/Pathology/Horticulture/Animal Husbandry management//Geo-physics with knowledge in computer application. Desirable Qualifications: (D.Q.) : Experience in Agromet advisory Services, Crop Weather Modeling. Data Analysis and related areas.

 

Qualification :

 

Reader Rank : Essential qualification (E.Q.) : (i) A first or high 2nd class Master  degree in the subject or discipline or related subject  followed by a first or high second class Bachelor’s Degree in  Agriculture or Horticulture. (ii) A consistently good academic record with a Ph.D. in the subject or  discipline (iii) At 5 years’ experience in  teaching and /or research and /or extension education in the rank of lecturer  or equivalent position in a University, Institute or  Organization of  repute. Specialization for the post Sl.No.02 is Spies.

 

Lecturer Rank : Essential qualification (E.Q.) : A consistently good academic record with 1st or high 2nd class Masters Degree in Plan Pathology followed by a first or  high second class Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture. Desirable Qualifications: (D.Q.): (i) A doctoral degree or  at least 2 years’ experience of teaching and / or research and/or extension education in the subject or discipline (ii) NET qualified.

 

Application  Forms and Fees :

 

  1. Attested copies of mark sheets, Birth Certificates, Education Certificates, Experience Certificates etc. must be accompanied with the application.
  2. Candidates already in service must submit their application through proper channel : an advance copy may, however, be sent directly.
  3. Persons desiring to apply for more than one post must submit separate applications for different posts.
  4. Duly filled application in prescribed forms for the different category of post must be accompanied by application fee of Rs. 400/- (Four hundred) only in scale of pay 16,400-22,400, Rs. 300/- (Three hundred) only in scale of pay 12,000-18,300 and Rs. 200/- (Rupees two hundred) only in scale of  pay 8,000-13,500 in the form of Bank draft  in favour of “Uttar Banga Krishi Viswavidyalaya payable at Cooch Behar, West Bengal or by payment of  cash   personally on any working day between 12–16 hours. SC/ST candidates are to pay one fourth (1/4) of the above stated application fees.
  5. (a) Application received after the stipulated date and or (b) incomplete applications will summarily be rejected.
  6. Only the short listed candidates will be called for interview.
  7. The University reserves the right to accept or reject any or all applications without assigning any reason and or without information.
  8. Candidates appointed by the University are liable to serve anywhere within the jurisdiction of University.
